My Disney Time - Week 39: Walt Disney World 20th Anniversary
In celebration of Walt Disney World's anniversary this week, My Disney Time, Week 39 features my Walt Disney World 20th anniversary watch.
This week, Walt Disney World celebrated its 42nd anniversary. On October 1, 1971, the Magic Kingdom opened to the public. Since then, EPCOT (1982), Disney's Hollywood Studios (1989) and Disney's Animal Kingdom (1998) are separate parks that have become part of Walt Disney World. You really need a minimum of five days just to be able to see visit all the parks at Walt Disney World. A weeks visit would enable you to enjoy some of the restaurants, shows and visit other Disney World offerings.
Walt Disney World is a tribute to the philosophy and life of Walter Elias Disney... and to the talents, the dedication, and the loyalty of the entire Disney organization that made Walt Disney's dream come true. May Walt Disney World bring Joy and Inspiration and New Knowledge to all who come to this happy place ... a Magic Kingdom where the young at heart of all ages can laugh and play and learn — together. -Roy O. I was able to go to Walt Disney World back in 1991 when they were just celebrating their 20th anniversary. This watch was a Cast Member exclusive that I purchased at their Cast Member store. It's a pretty simple watch that features the Walt Disney World 20th anniversary logo. I like the simple retro design. It's a simple gold watch with a brown leather band. There are no markings on the back. This watch also reminds me of my first visit to Walt Disney World.
I've been lucky enough to visit Walt Disney World several times since 1991. Hoping to go back next fall. There are so many new attractions, restaurant offerings and shows since my last visit back in 2004. Hope they will have some fun watches that can become part of my Disney watch collection.
