My Disney Time - Week 38: Lunch Box Peter Pan
My Disney Time, Week 38 features Peter Pan:
Think of a wonderful thought, Any merry little thought,
Think of Christmas, think of snow, think of sleigh bells,
Off you go, Like reindeer in the sky!
You can fly, you can fly, you can fly!!!
Disney's Peter Pan classic movie was released in 1953. We were introduced to iconic Disney characters like Tinkerbell, Captain Hook, Mr. Smee. Peter Pan is set in London where Peter meets the Darling children, Wendy, Michael and John. With happy thoughts and Tinkerbell's help, Peter leads the Darlings towards "the second star to the right and straight on till morning" in order to get to Neverland.
The watch face on this design resembles Big Ben's clock face. The Peter Pan characters are shown on the watch face as if they are in flight to Neverland as they fly by Big Ben during the night. Tinkerbell and her trail of pixie dust, serves as the second hand as she flies around the watch. It's really a great watch to look at when you need to know what time it is.
This watch has a brown leather band that compliments the watch design. I love that is has the DISNEY name embossed on the watch buckle. This was also limited to 5000 pieces and I have number 4736. This watch also came with a coordinating Disney pin which featured Tinkerbell.
There have so many different versions of J.M. Barrie's Peter Pan. The 1954 musical that featured Mary Martin was a success with memorable songs like I Won't Grow Up and I Gotta Crow. Earlier this year, my family and I recently saw Cathy Rigby as Peter Pan at the beautiful Pantages theater. It was a fabulous production and Cathy Rigby was absolutely fantastic. I am a big fan of ABC's Once Upon a Time and am looking forward to this new season that begins this Sunday. They have another take on Peter Pan and Neverland that looks a little dark. I like a different perspective on a well-known character.
