My Visit to Season of the Force at Disneyland: Part 2
Star Wars Launch Bay: Formerly Innoventions, formerly America Sings, this round building just got one of the best makeovers that it badly needed. It has limited hours of operations. It is located on first floor of the building. you can experience the Dark and Light Side of Star Wars.
There is a Light Side and Dark Side Gallery where you will find lots of really cool displays. You can learn about some of the vehicles, weapons and people related to the Light or Dark Side of the Star Wars galaxy. There are Star Wars character meet and greet opportunities here, too. It's a fun place to visit for any Star Wars fan, for anyone wanting to know a little more about the Star Wars universe, and actually a good place to find just a little reprieve from the huge Disneyland crowds.
Here are some photos of some of the exhibits that you can see inside Star Wars Launch Bay.
Walking around to see all the details is always a fun adventure. From the themed trash cans to the use of these droids as wall sconces, taking the time to walk around is worth it. There is writings on several of the walls all done in the Aurebesh language.
There are two different meet and greet locations. One to meet Darth Vadar (Dark Side)and another to meet Chewbacca (Light Side). If you have a Chase Disney Credit Card, there is an additional Star Wars character that you can meet. They will check your ID and card plus it needs to be a credit card, not a debit card. Be warned that the wait time for these character meet ups can be very long. My family decided that we needed to meet Chewbacca to set the tone for our evening visit.
Of course there is a merchandise location inside Star Wars Launch Bay. You can find some very high end art and collectibles. There is a variety of merchandise offerings with a wide range of price point.
Finally, you can customize your own Star Wars themed smart phone case. After you make your selection and purchase, they will process your order right there. You can watch them make your special smart phone case or walk around some more to explore.
Before you leave, make sure to visit the area where you can watch a short film clip to hear from some of the current Star Wars creators. It was interesting to hear what they had to say of how Star Wars has influenced their work and how they will continue to protect and grow all things Star Wars. If you can't make it, you can view my video clip at the end of this post.
If you want to more about the more Season of the Force offerings n Tomorrowland, you can read more about in my previous blog post.
