The Backside of Disneyland...AKA Future "Star Wars Land"?
Over the weekend I parked over at the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure and they directed us to the very top level. I took advantage of the view and took these photos.
Can you see the Matterhorn peaking through the trees? These trees create the "berm" that envelop Disneyland so that Guests cannot see the outside of the Park.
Many of these backstage buildings are staff shops where maintenance of Disneyland buildings, signs, Attraction vehicles and more are done. I remember when I worked as a Cast Member there were various opportunities I had to see what these buildings were about. There was even a small building, a shed, dedicated to the maintenance of the Carousel horses. There was always a horse or two in there that was being worked on.
In the photo below, you can see the Team Disney (Anaheim) building on the left. That will not go away. It was designed by famed architect, Frank Gehry. In the middle of the photo are the Disneyland horses getting their exercise.
There is so much Star Wars in the news, especially with the huge FORCE FRIDAY merchandise push tomorrow. My husband came down earlier and remarked: "Christmas shopping just got easier for you." Here's the first thing on his list.
The FORCE is Strong!
