Friday Find: Euro Disney Commemorative Medallion
Hi Disney Friends,
Today I am going to start a new series called "Friday Find". I will post something that I may have found in my personal Disney stash during my time when I was a Disneyland Cast Member or something I may have found that I want to share.
I was spring cleaning and found a box of some of the things I received when I was a Disneyland Cast Member. Remember in the 1990s, Michael Eisner was still the CEO of the Walt Disney Company and was still growing the company in different ways.
In April of 1992, Disneyland Paris opened its doors to the public. It's the second international Disney theme park to have been built after Tokyo Disneyland (1983). Here is a commemorative medallion with a company letter that was given to Disneyland Cast Members.
I love Disney letterhead so you can see how the logos and name changes have happened. Company divisions evolve, too, as "Walt Disney Attractions" is now "Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Worldwide, Inc."
I love that it says EURO DISNEY on it. In 2002, the name was officially changed to "Disneyland Paris". Just like it took Disneyland several years for it to be a bona fide success, it also took some time before Disneyland Paris began to make its mark.
