Music Monday: Two Worlds (Tarzan)
On of my daughter's favorite song from a Disney movie is from Tarzan (1999). TWO WORLDS was written by Phil Collins and serves as the opening scene for the movie. This particular song helps to tell the story of baby Tarzan and how he arrived at his jungle home. The melody, words, and Collin's vocals in TWO WORLDS help to capture adventure, sadness and even hope in the first several minutes of the movie.
As a mother of two, this song always touches my heart. I have one kid that started high school and another beginning her 3rd year in college. This song reminds me that at some point, my kids won't always be with me and my kids won't always have me around. It's been exciting to see them coming into their own people and becoming part of other people's worlds. In the parenting season that I am in, I can see that the emotional tools that my husband and I have equipped them with are what gives them the confidence to make life choices.
Somewhere something is calling for you
Two worlds, one family
Trust your heart
Let fate decide
To guide these lives we see
