Music Monday: True Love's Kiss (Enchanted)

In 2007, Disney released Enchanted, which was a live-action animated musical fantasy romantic film. The movie was both a homage and self-parody to Disney animated classics. Alan Menken (composer) and Stephen Schwartz (lyrics) wrote the music for Enchanted. They had previously worked on Pocahontas and Hunchback of Notre Dame.

One of the most memorable songs from Enchanted is "True Love's Kiss". It's the first song you hear and captures that moment where we are introduced to a Disney princess, Giselle, who sings about her hopes and dreams. It's her "I want" song.

"I’ve been dreaming of a true love’s kiss
And a prince, I’m hoping, comes with this
That’s what brings ever-aftering so happy
That’s the reason we need lips so much
For lips are the only things that touch
So to spend a life of endless bliss
Just find who you love through true love’s kiss.”

There's a little hopeless romantic in all of us, right?

Happy Music Monday,
