Music Monday: Yo, Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)

Over the weekend, the famous Disneyland attraction, Pirates of the Caribbean, celebrated its 50th anniversary. Just as famous is the music that you hear when you enter the ride, "Yo, Ho" (A Pirate's Life for Me).

If you sing "Yo Ho, Yo Ho" most people can complete the tune with "a pirate's life for me." Right? The song was written by Disney Legends, Xavier Atencio (lyrics) and George Bruns (music). In an interview with D23, Atencio tells of this story of how he came to contributing to this song. Atencio was known as an Imagineer, not a songwriter.
