Friday Find: Disneyland Model at Walt Disney Family Muesum
I was able to visit the Walt Disney Family Museum (WDFM) in San Francisco last week. One of my favorite rooms to visit is "Gallery 9" where you can find a hand crafted model of Disneyland.
Here are just a few photos that i took to share with you. The lighting in the area would change so sometimes the photos came our a little darker than others.
It does not represent any specific era or year. It's really just a fascinating model that you can spend hours just looking at. With the way it is presented and laid out, you can see it from many different angles and discover all kinds of details. There are some attractions on this model that are no longer there because they had to make way for new attractions.
Something that is added to the model that was never at Disneyland is this fun detail. The red barn by the train tracks is a replica of Walt's famous barn.
Today, this barn is located at Griffith Park (Los Angels) and is owned by the Carolwood Foundation. They are open to the public once a month on designated day. You can visit the barn and learn more about Walt's love of trains.
If you want to see more detailed photos of this Disneyland model, visit the Imagineering Disney Blog for this post. They have some great photos that you will enjoy.
